I have a wee soft spot for Thailand weddings. The very first destination wedding that I ever attended as a guest was at Cape Panwa, not too far from Phuket Town. We spent the most amazing few days, lounging about on a boat, drinking cocktails, eating some of the best Thai food I’ve ever tasted, and ultimately, watching two of our closest friends become husband and wife on a secluded tropical cove. All in, it was pretty damn perfect, so looking through these photos from Sally and John’s recent Phuket wedding has me feeling all sorts of nostalgia.
I really love the modern, elegant theme of this wedding, which was just perfect for the gorgeous private villa setting. I’m noticing that more and more couples are forgoing the traditional hotel or resort wedding in favour of a luxury villa, and I think it’s the perfect setting for a completely private, bespoke event. Hats off to Luxury Events Thailand, who put together Sally & John’s beautiful outdoor soiree, complete with hanging lanterns, fire dancers and a sea of white florals. And of course, a very big thank you to destination photographer extraordinaire Julian Abram Wainwright, for sharing these glimpses Sally & Ben’s perfect day.
